Please bring both your old computer and your new computer, together with the new computer’s charger. If you have any software, licence details or other information you think we may need, bring those too.
We’ll transfer your important personal files, including documents, photos and other data stored on your old computer. We’ll check the transfer before your new computer is returned to you.
Programs usually need to be installed again rather than simply copied. We’ll reinstall and configure the everyday programs you need where possible. Some paid software may require your licence details or subscription.
We can set up your email on the new computer. You may need to enter your email password or approve a security check when we complete the setup.
Yes. Where required, we can finish the setup at your home so we can connect the new computer to your Wi-Fi and set up your existing printer and other everyday equipment.
We recommend keeping your old computer unchanged initially until you’re happy that everything you need is available on the new one. Once you’re satisfied, we can also help you securely wipe and recycle the old computer if you no longer need it.
Most Moving to a New PC jobs are completed within 2 working days, although particularly large amounts of data or unusual software requirements may take longer.
£159 is the fixed price for the standard Moving to a New PC service. Additional software, security licences, new equipment or work outside the normal service may cost extra, but we’ll discuss this with you first.
